Course description

This course presents a state-of-the-practice of leadership in construction project management. The course covers the overview of construction industry in particular to developing countries, leadership: a definition, principles of leadership, leadership theories, leadership styles; leader versus manager; attributes of a leader, leadership competencies in the construction industry; leadership and team building, characteristics of effective teams; ethical leadership; leading within the field of construction and design; considerations for creating a new organization; project organizational structure: organization charts, clients, contractors, and consultants. The primary objective of this training is to provide a blend of theoretical knowledge and practical skills necessary to improve each participant’s leadership and managerial skills in construction industry.
